Just over 5 years ago, you joined me on my journey to serve in Athens, Greece with the Momentum singles ministry at my church--Village Church of Gurnee. (Relive the experience with me here!)
I'm so excited to report that this Saturday, I'm embarking on a new adventure to Guatemala City, Guatemala where my 9 trip mates and I will be working with Hope Renewed International.

HRI was founded by Jason Powell, a member of our church, with an amazing heart for the plight of the impoverished living in Guatemala City. He has adopted 3 children from Guatemala in recent years (to add to his 3 biological children), though one child, Brayan, is retained in Guatemala due to the adoption ban in place.Differing from my 2008 trip to Athens, my team is very well informed about what our week in Guatemala City will be like, and for this, we are all the more excited. We have also been blessed to live vicariously through the high school group preceding us there this week. Check out the 24/7 blog here!
I know God has a lot of blessings in store for us, and I am looking forward to being able to serve and impact the people in need there, however big or small the outcome.
The really comfortable quarters we're keeping in GC has Wifi access, so I anticipate keeping a daily account of our happenings. 5 years' time has done wonders in expanding my technology horizons, so I'm hoping to include photos and videos as we go as well.
Our team really covets your prayers at this time as we finally depart on this journey a year in the making!
